Pride: when your child has done it
Got dressed alone, built the tower, dared to try: pride is the feeling after making it. Kids need grown-ups who notice it.

What's behind this feeling
Pride says: "I can do something." It makes you stand tall and is a good reason to try new things.
What can help
Describe what you see instead of just praising: "You tried three times and now it works." That's how kids learn that sticking with it pays off.
What the book says
These texts appear exactly like this on the double page. Read them aloud while your child colors.

This is Sparkle, the pride unicorn. Sparkle shows up when you have done something that was really hard – then your chest grows wide and your chin lifts up high.
The questions
Where do you feel Sparkle? Is your chest getting wide? Are you standing extra tall? What did you manage to do that was really hard at first?
The trick: The proud pose
Stand like Sparkle: feet firm, chest out, hands on your hips. Say it out loud: I did it!
